(ContentDesk) June 11, 2004 -- Having worked and managed Chinese law firms since his arrival in China in 1987 gives Edward Lehman the unique distinction of being the longest practicing foreign lawyer working with local firms in the country. He was interviewed in the June 4 - 6 edition of Beijing Weekend on what life has been like for a veteran expat lawyer in China. Back in 1987, "there was very little business. It was more lucrative to be a taxi driver or a waiter in a foreign hotel than to do what I was doing" states Lehman. Times, however, have changed. In post-WTO China, the professional services industry is booming.
