Thailand Live-aboard. Liveaboard Scuba Diving Similan Islands, Phi Phi Island, Koh Ha Island, Surin by
After a nice passage, we enjoyed our morning brew watching the nice appearance of the Similan National Park.
With 40 meters visibility on all divesites, this was a trip into the big blue We started at our secret divesite, and, as always, it was a really nice and striking scuba dive.
At the northern end of the Similan National Park, we spotted plenty Sea Turtles, a Napoleon Wrasse and a big Triton Chromodoris Nudibranch on the way.
We started our journey north, with our first stop at Koh Bon. While enjoying a curious Leopard Shark, a Manta Ray cruised by.
Koh Tachai, famous for its powerful currents and plentiful marine life, and delivered, not only the powerful current, but also a couple of curious Leopard Sharks. Schooling Barracudas in the distance, plenty of Trevallies and Fusiliers and, of course, all the Batfish getting cleaned. Sunset dive with Yellowtail Barracudas.
At Richelieu Rock we did 4 dives this cruise, all of them marvellous! Huge school of Chevron Barracudas, plenty of Jacks, two Zebra Moray Eels, a two of Harlequin Ghost Pipefish and plenty of fancy Nudibranches, including Black-margined Glossodoris, Annulated Chromodoris and Beautiful Risbecia. A magic night dive here, with an unheard of amount of life, including several Decorator Crabs!
Back on Koh Tachai next morning, we had yet another Leopard Shark coming in close for a look! Dusk dive at Elephant Rock, where we had a quick visit from a Guitar Shark! Sunset dive at Hideaway. Nice and calming, with lots of fish.
The 5th, and regrettably last, day started with a nice scuba dive at Morning edge. Spearing Mantis Shrimp, Stingrays, Clownfish and a Turtle. Final scuba dive this time was at Sharkfin Reef; good as always, with three Ribbon Eels, Jawfish, Nudibranches and a Whitetip Shark.
A very calm passage back to Patong. PJ Widestrand is Tourleader and Video - Pro. He has been diving all over the world including Cocos Islands, Galapagos, Komodo and for 6 years he have been working in Thailand. More information about Phuket Live-aboards
