Rjm Waste Equipment Company Re-opens Its Highway 183 Manufacturing Plant by
RJM Waste Equipment Company (www.rjmmfg.com)announced today (Easley, SC), the re-opening of its largest plant located on State Highway 183 in Easley, South Carolina. Originally built in 1987 specifically for the purpose of non-mobile solid waste handling equipment, and expanded and modernized in 2001, the "183" plant is RJM's flagship facility. According to Ron McCracken, RJM's founder and CEO, "Re-opening our 183 plant is an important milestone for us because it has 62,000 square feet of high bay space and plenty of gantry crane capability." He went on to explain "Our 183 plant can manufacture our entire line of products and can support more than $1.5 per month in revenues. Re-starting 183 enables us to produce more efficiently and increases our overall production capacity by more than $12 million per year."Margaret Cauthen, RJM's senior Manager, is also pleased with the re-opening of the 183 Plant. "Reopening 183 gives us a lot of flexibility," said Ms. Cauthen. "It enables us to shift production between our plants to meet demand and to improve our operating efficiencies. It also enhances our quality control and improves our ability to respond to large and expedited orders from our customers in a timely fashion."Danny James, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, added, "The 183 plant gives us the capacity and capability we need to support or sales growth objectives. The good news is, we have more than 50% of the facility's capacity still available to us and as we grow we will continue to produce more efficiently. We will start reaching our optimum productivity at approximately 75% capacity, so we will also continue to improve our profitability."
