First-ever Asian Conference On Corporate Blogging To Be Held Next Week In Singapore by
(ContentDesk) September 16, 2005 -- The online journals known as web logs or blogs have gained wide popularity and acceptance in the United States, becoming a commonly used tool for business marketing communications. But, other parts of the world have been slower to join the craze. One Singapore-based company, Maitre-Allianz, is out to change that and they have employed the help of marketing communications and business blogging consultant, Paul Chaney, president of Radiant Marketing Group. (www.radiantmarketinggroup.com)Maitre-Allianz, a company that provides leadership training to corporate executives, is hosting the first conference on corporate blogging ever to be held in Asia, called BLOGasia. Chaney, along with fellow business blogger Susannah Gardner, author of the book Buzz Marketing with Blogs For Dummies, will be co-leading the conference scheduled for September 21-22. "Business blogging is beginning to make headway on other continents, but still lags far behind the US in terms of the number of bloggers or companies using the publishing medium," says Chaney. He adds, "I feel incredibly privileged to be called upon to lead this conference and help open Asia to the possibilities blogging provides organizations." The two-day conference will cover almost every blog-related topic imaginable including a basic "blogging 101" session, benefits blogging can provide a company, how to market a blog, and even legal ramifications related to blogging.Asked why he was selected to lead a conference half way around the globe, Chaney quipped, "I've worked hard to position myself as a thought-leader in the use of this burgeoning new medium for business and marketing communications and it looks like it's beginning to pay off."The conference is scheduled for September 21-22.
